Enough greatness cannot be stated in a worded review. You have to come here to enjoy it for yourself. Look, I'm not into zombie stuff, horror movies or anything closely resembling that stuff. But a friend recommended it, and I'm glad we listened. I'm a slave to breakfast burrito's even at noon, when I had mine here. Absolutely delicious. I also had a Reese's Puffs milkshake that was beyond pure awesomeness. My son did some concoction that had mac & cheese inside fried hamburger buns, smothered in caramelized onions. Let's just say you didn't want to get in his way as he devoured everything on his plate. The ambiance here, especially the artwork, is phenomenal. Would love to see one of these closer to my home in the Chicago burbs. Cheers!

Ate here for a quick bite to eat while working, restaurant is a very upbeat place and feels very alive for an undead burger place. Our waitress was also working the bar but still gave us great service. The Juan of the dead burger was definitely a different twist on a burger worth traveling to and trying. All around I highly recommend.

We visited one of the most famous burger joints in Des Moines. Zombie Burger + Drink Lab has been serving up smash burgers with a side of the walking dead. So many unique burger options. Even one with a Mac & Cheese deep fried bun! I tried the Raygun. Cooked to perfection with all the flavor. And don't skip out on the shakes. The chocolate cake shake spiked with Tippy Cow Chocolate Rum Cream was incredible. Service was top notch and fast. They offer dine in and carry out and even have a wrap around outdoor patio.

I had the Portobello mushroom burger, and it was absolutely delightful. We received a side of cheese fries that were more than enough to share with three people, and there were even leftovers. Our daughter ordered the chili cheese fries and stated that they were the best she had ever tasted. Considering that this is coming from a teenager, I would say that this is quite a remarkable compliment. The server was exceptional; she brought out water for our goldendoodle. Yes, they allow pets in the outside dining area!!! She explained all the options to us and shared her favorite item that she gets. I appreciated her recommendations. The interior décor was very enjoyable.

I really enjoyed the food and the service. I sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and helped me decide what to get. I got the East Village of the Damned Burger and some European Olympic poutine (a limited time menu for the Olympics. The food portions are huge. I got a half order of the poutine and had to ask if what the brought me was right. It was. The price was good for the quality and volume. The interior decorations of zombie art were fun and pretty stylish. I would definitely come back

Pretty good. I came here in high school and loved the funky options, shakes, and veggie burgers. It was great service! They couldn't seat us right away but they added us to a list and we got a chance to peep the menu, decor, and our server was with us in no time. My favorite thing was the cake shake with jalapeño poppers, big portions too. My main complaint was the buns being on the cold/stale side, and a little dry as far as condiments. I had plenty of leftovers and all things considered it did not break the bank.

Great spot if you're looking for large portions and creative food. Better than most typical themed burger spots. We tried the Mac and cheese burger asked cereal milkshakes. Such a fun experience! While the food here is impressively unique and creative, the overall quality is average. Also, it's quite a heavy meal so expect to feel like passing out after! I agree it's worth checking out at least once. Come hungry!

This Zombie Burger + Drink Lab can be found in downtown with (metered) street parking. There is outdoor (dog friendly) seating available. Zombie Burger + Drink Lab was highly recommended by locals so my husband and I decided to make an order to go after visiting the State Capitol a few Fridays ago. We ended up ordering: Big Kid Zombie Meal, $14.99 + Triple Burger add on, $2.50 + 1/2 loaded fries, $2.25 prior to tax- This big kid meal comes with a root beer float, a side of fries and a toy, which is a key chain bottle opener with Zombie Burger's logo it. My husband decided to add on the triple burger patty because he figured it would be great for the 2 of us since we were planning on sharing this meal. He also decided to add the loaded fries too (I made the mistake to use the restroom while he ordered. I honestly would not have added that). The burger was good, juicy and flavorful. I liked the cheese between the patties and the sauce or spread used on the burger. But the bun was a major fail. It did not hold up to the bun and just fell apart and was rather soggy. The loaded fries were really tasty and a good portion. I liked my root beer float (I don't even remember when was the last time I had one). The box the burger comes in is pretty cool. I thought this big kid meal was a fun experience. Chili Cheese Fries, $8.99 prior to tax- Our chili was packed on the side since our meal was taken to go. The fries already had melted shredded cheese on it. The chili was nice and thick. The portion size of these fries is quite a lot and plenty to share with 2 or 3 people. ------------------------------ (Total= $31.59 after tax + 2.75% surcharge for paying with credit card) Please note that if you want to avoid the transactions credit card fee, pay with cash. We did not know about the fee, as we did not see on the menu or a sign that there was a fee (nor did I read in reviews from fellow Yelp members about it). Service was friendly. Wait time wasn't too bad, especially since we ordered in person. The restaurant is decked out in zombie décor. The bathroom was also pretty cool too. I can see why this place is so highly rated and also well liked by visitors and locals.

Fun concept, restaurant has two parts - proper dine-in and kiosk self-service. Lots of burgers and shakes to choose from. The Cremator burger and Peanut Butter Banana shake were great. Would definitely revisit to try the others if I find myself in Des Moines again.
